The existence of the internet and the ability to download music and movies online has greatly changed the way that many people acquire their music these days. Long gone are the days when we listened to our favorite radio station and then hot-footed it to the local music store with our allowance to buy the latest record and help them to the top of the charts. These days there are loads of opportunities to download all of the latest music and movies online.

Some people don't actually realize (and others simply don't care) that some of these free download sites are illegal and the movie and music industry are investing millions to get them closed down. You can even be prosecuted for illegally downloading from some of these websites. Ignorance is no defence in these cases either, it's down to the individual to discover whether what they are downloading is from a legal, or an illegal site. That's a bit mean isn't it?

Many websites give you the chance to download your movies and music online for a small charge - generally much less than you would pay for a DVD or CD in a store for example, although even if the price is comparable it's still great to have the convenience of almost immediate download. You should be able to order the download, pay the price and be watching your favorite movie or listening to your favorite tunes within a couple of minutes. Convenience really is the name of the game.
